Remove a shared stream

You can remove a shared stream you subscribe to by unsubscribing. When you unsubscribe from a stream, it’s removed from all your devices.

You can remove a shared stream you own by deleting it. When you delete your shared stream, it’s removed from all your devices and the devices of all its subscribers.

On an iOS 7 device

  1. In the Photos app, tap Shared at the bottom of the screen, then tap Streams at the top of the screen.

  2. Tap the shared stream you want to remove, tap People, then tap Unsubscribe (if you’re a subscriber) or Delete Photo Stream (if you’re the owner).

You can also tap Shared, tap Edit, tap the Remove button on the left side of the shared stream you want to remove, then tap Unsubscribe (if you’re a subscriber) or Delete (if you’re the owner).

On an iOS 6 device

  1. In the Photos app, tap Photo Stream.

  2. Tap Edit, tap the Remove button on the left side of the shared stream you want to remove, then tap Unsubscribe (if you’re a subscriber) or Delete (if you’re the owner).

On a Mac using iPhoto or Aperture

On Apple TV

  1. Go to iCloud Photos.

  2. Select an album, hold down the center button on your remote until a dialog appears, then select Unsubscribe (if you’re a subscriber) or Delete Album (if you’re the owner).

    If you simply press the center button instead of holding it down, you see the items in the album instead of the dialog where you can remove the album.

You can’t remove the Activity album. To remove My Photo Stream from Apple TV, go to Settings > iCloud > iCloud Photos Settings, then select Turn Off My Photo Stream.

On a Windows computer

  1. Select iCloud Photos under Favourites in a folder window of File Explorer (Windows 8) or Windows Explorer (Windows 7).

  2. Right-click the shared stream you want to remove, then choose Unsubscribe (if you’re a subscriber) or “Delete photo stream” (if you’re the owner) from the menu that appears.
