Delete photos or videos from a shared stream

When you delete a photo or video from a shared photo stream, it’s removed from the shared stream on all your devices and all subscribers’ devices. The owner of a shared stream can delete photos and videos that anyone adds. Subscribers to a shared stream can delete the photos and videos they add.

On an iOS 7 device

  1. In the Photos app, tap Shared at the bottom of the screen, then tap Streams at the top of the screen.

  2. Tap the shared stream you want to delete photos or videos from.

    You can’t delete from the Activity stream.

  3. Tap Select, tap one or more photos, then tap .

  4. Tap Delete x Photos or Delete Photo.

On an iOS 6 device

  1. In the Photos app, tap Photo Stream.

  2. Tap the shared stream you want to delete photos from.

  3. Tap Select, tap Edit, tap one or more photos, then tap Delete.

  4. Tap Delete Selected Photos or Delete Photo.

On a Mac using iPhoto or Aperture

On Apple TV

  1. Go to iCloud Photos.

  2. Select an album, press the center button on your remote, then select a photo or video you want to delete.

  3. Hold down the center button on your remote until a dialog appears, then select Delete Photo.

    If you simply press the center button instead of holding it down, a full-screen image appears instead of the dialog where you can remove the image.

On a Windows computer

  1. Select iCloud Photos under Favorites in a folder window of File Explorer (Windows 8) or Windows Explorer (Windows 7).

  2. Double-click the shared stream you want to delete photos or videos from.

    You can’t delete from the Activity stream.

  3. Click a photo or video you want to delete, so that it appears in the Comments section on the right.

  4. Right-click the selected photo or video, then choose Delete from the menu that appears.
