Add or delete a photo for a contact

In iCloud Contacts, when you create a contact, the contact card includes a placeholder silhouette image in the upper-left corner.

You can add a photo to replace the placeholder image. The photo you add appears in other apps that share your iCloud Contacts information. Changes appear on every device that has the iCloud Contacts feature turned on.

Add or change a contact photo

  1. Select the contact whose photo you want to edit.

  2. Click the Edit button at the top of the contact card.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • To add a new photo, click Add Photo and either drag a photo to the photo field or click Choose Photo, select an image file, then click Choose.

      You can resize the photo by dragging the slider below the photo.

    • To change an existing photo, click the photo, then either drag a new photo to the photo field or click Choose Photo, select an image file, then click Choose.

      You can resize the photo by dragging the slider below the photo.

  4. Click Done.

    You can change or delete a contact’s photo at any time.

Delete a contact photo

  1. Select the contact whose photo you want to delete.

  2. Click the Edit button at the top of the contact card.

  3. Click the Delete button in the corner of the photo.
